Top matches
A personalised shortlist of up to 20 people who fit your profile, answers and preferences — sitting at the top of your Matches tab instead of buried in a deck.
One Dollar Date · Launching soon
Real conversations. Real plans. Real people. Dates is built to be intentional — a small queue, chat you both choose, and several ways to meet that aren't a swipe deck.
A$1 a month when we launch. No gold, no boosts.
One Dollar Date features
Different ways to meet, all built to get you out into the real world.
A personalised shortlist of up to 20 people who fit your profile, answers and preferences — sitting at the top of your Matches tab instead of buried in a deck.
Answer compatibility questions about yourself and what you want in someone else. Your answers rank who you see, and you can flag the questions that really matter to you. Once you've both answered enough, a compatibility score shows on their card.
Jump into a quick social game with people nearby. On Dates everyone stays anonymous until the last round — then you can like whoever you actually enjoyed playing with.
Not another like — a Saturday, a suburb and a venue. Browse open one-on-one or group date plans, see how many spots are left, and ask to join.
The familiar deck is still there when you want it — simple and fast, just ranked by your answers rather than who paid for a boost.
Check in at a venue to see who else is actually out. Check-in runs for 6 hours and ends automatically — no always-on location.
A better approach
Most apps reward collecting matches. Dates does the opposite — it keeps your list short enough that you actually follow through.
Date plans are separate from this — there's no three-plan limit. The cap applies to open dating matches.
Intentional chats
A match is an invitation, not an inbox. Two optional steps sit between matching and messaging, and both sides control them.
01 · Optional questionnaire
Write your own short questionnaire — up to eight questions — and send it when you match. See how someone thinks before you invest time. Until they answer and you accept, the chat stays closed.
You both tap once to open the chat. Until you do, you won't see anything the other person has already sent — so nobody gets a pile of unread messages they never asked for.
From the chat you can propose a real date — a time, a place and a note. Add check-in reminders, an emergency contact and location sharing if you want backup while you're out.
Play & Match
Dates games are quick games you drop into with people nearby. Everyone stays anonymous until the game ends, then you can like who you clicked with. Round counts are fixed, so nobody is stuck in a marathon.
Everyone writes an answer to the same prompt, then votes for the best one.
One person draws, everyone else guesses — and tries to fool the room.
Spot the real fact among the convincing fakes everyone else wrote.
You both get the same scenario and privately call it. Agree, or talk it out when you don't.
Dates games are quick games only. Hosted lobbies are a One Dollar Mate feature, and Red flag / Green flag is exclusive to Dates.
Local venues, partner offers and check-ins are part of the product, so a chat has somewhere to go.
After you meet
After a date you can leave a private review. When a match closes, you can say why. It gets summarised back to you as insights — nobody sees who left what.
